Two 2-year-olds from two families in two different states made two life‑changing walks down a hospital hallway.

For the Stanley family of Charleston, West Virginia, this honor walk marked the last time they would ever see their baby girl alive. Seilah drowned in a swimming pool days earlier and could not be revived. The walk down the hallway was a walk to donate her organs. Advertisement

For the Evans family of Columbus, Ohio, their son, Shaun, needed a heart, and had spent months practically living at the hospital. This was his walk out, where his family finally got to take him home — with Seilah’s heart beating strong inside him.

The two families recently met in western Pennsylvania for the first time.
