CLEVELAND, Ohio – When I was born in 1980, 45-year-olds were born in 1935. That’s the equivalent age gap of me and a baby born today.

My sister recently blew my mind with this fact.

It was more shocking than realizing that when the Wonder Years premiered in 1988 -- with its grainy faux home videos and Joe Cocker’s nostalgic crooning “What would you do, if I sang out of tune” -- the show depicted an era only 20 years earlier. That’s the equivalent of a show today depicting 2005.
