BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - International exports have been made easier thanks to a division of New York State that is bridging the gap between New York and countries across the world.
Binghamton was one of the several stops statewide on the Global New York Export Promotion Tour. Global New York provides businesses direct access to buyers in new markets. It has 15 offices representing 190 countries spanning from South America to Asia to Europe and the Middle East. Director of External Affairs and Marketing Molly Bauer says companies that export grow 24 percent faster than those that don't.
"The U.S. only represents 5% of the world's population and 25% of the world's buying power. So if you're not exporting, you're missing out on a lot of revenue that you could be getting," Bauer adds.
