BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Uplifting and reassuring messages are popping up all over town as folks look to raise awareness about mental health and suicide.

Chalk the Walk, Have the Talk is in its 6th year of encouraging people to write inspiring messages on sidewalks in our area. The campaign is organized by Broome County Suicide Awareness For Everyone, or BC SAFE. This year's theme is One Conversation Can Make a Difference. Committee Chair Alexis Savidge says the effort has seen tremendous growth in participation from schools and businesses as well as support from sponsors.
