BINGHMATON N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Several vacant lots in Binghamton's First Ward have been sold for only a dollar each.

Mayor Jared Kraham announced plans to sell city-owned lots to Community Asset Preservation Corporation for the development of single-family homes for first-time home buyers with eligible incomes. The lots at 25 and 29 Lydia Street, 60 Dickinson Street, and 199 Murray Street will all be future homes to young families. The New Jersey-based non-profit CAPC plans to build six single-family homes on the lots using funding through New York State's Block by Block program. Binghamton is one of five communities statewide eligible for the program, which provides developers up to 300 thousand dollars for construction of a single-family home.
