SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - It’s been 10 days since Notre Dame opened its season with a loss at Miami , and now the Irish are gearing up for another top 20 opponent in their home opener this Saturday.

The Irish have some recent history against the Texas A&M Aggies. Last season, Notre Dame went down to College Station and beat Texas A&M 23-13 in another ranked matchup.

In Marcus Freeman’s time as head coach, Notre Dame has been pretty good against the SEC, as they’ve now won three straight games vs the conference.

However, this game has taken on new importance after that first loss. As of right now, Miami and Texas A&M are the only ranked teams on Notre Dame’s schedule, meaning this could be their last chance for a statement win.
