MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. — Seven people — including two jail nurses, a sergeant, two corporals and two correctional officers — have been indicted in connection with the death of 74-year-old Lester Isbill, who died after being held in a restraint chair for more than nine hours at the Monroe County Justice Center.

Court records show the indictments include charges ranging from criminally negligent homicide to official misconduct and filing false reports.

WBIR reviewed video from inside Isbill’s jail cell that shows each of the people indicted. Personnel files also detail their histories with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
