Households across Maitland are being encouraged to open their garage doors to savvy shoppers this November for the garage sale trail.

Australia's biggest second-hand treasure hunt is on November 8 and 9, and 15 and 16.

Maitland residents can choose to cash in on their clutter by hosting their own garage sale, which is made easy thanks to free how-to guides, sale tips, and readymade promotional materials courtesy of Garage Sale Trail.

Meanwhile, shrewd bargain hunters can save a pretty penny by shopping the trail for everyday essentials or scoring a second-hand, one-of-a-kind find.

In 2024, 4800 Garage Sale Trail participants generated over $47,000 for the Maitland economy.
