SAC COUNTY, Iowa (KCAU) — A new Sac County sheriff is expected to be appointed in less than two weeks.
The county's deputy auditor told KCAU 9 that the Board of Supervisors is set to appoint someone to fill the position during a September 23 board meeting.

After that, a 14-day window of time will be allowed for citizens to file a petition for a special election. If there are none, then the appointment will continue until the 2026 election.
