KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Before you buy those tickets for that concert or sporting event you're looking forward to, be aware of potential scams.

FOX4 Problem Solver Bella Caracta shares the red flags to look out for to keep you from getting ripped off.

"Whether it be sporting events [or] festivals, any time there are tickets in high demand, short supply gives them the opportunity for them to get into the mix of legit businesses to try to take advantage of you," said Denise Groene with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Groene is talking about scammers.

"They lure you in with a too-good-to-be-true price or even a ticket that doesn't exist," she said.

The biggest way the consumer protection agency sees people being scammed is through fake websites selling you tickets.
