WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — A spokesperson for the family of Angelina Resendiz is thanking lawmakers, like Texas Congressman Vicente Gonzalez, for pushing legislation aimed at making the military report how many servicemembers were found dead over the last 10 years after initially being reported AWOL.

Marshall Griffin, an attorney representing the Resendiz family, said, “We want a just outcome. We want the people who are responsible for Angie’s death to be brought to justice.”

The Navy reports Resendiz was marked as "absent without leave" or having an unauthorized absence as of May 30 of this year, more than a week before she was found dead.
