Gov. Maura Healey is looking to use state funding to help research and development in Massachusetts.
The governor visited the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester on Wednesday to tout her Discovery, Research and Innovation for a Vibrant Economy (DRIVE) initiative. The initiative involves legislation that, if passed, would allocate $400 million for research and development funding in the state.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Healey emphasized that the Legislature must move quickly on this bill to send it to her desk, calling it a top priority.
