WOODMERE, Ohio – Two experienced bar entrepreneurs from Northeast Ohio are creating a new nighttime spot in Eton Chagrin Boulevard. Sam Friedman, of the former The Hangar in Hingetown’s CityGoods collection, and Michael Paley, one of several partners in Little Italy’s Cent’Anni , will debut NightJar in mid-November.

The 60-seat venue will have an old-world charm, vintage and original cocktails, a tinned fish menu and jazz music on weekends. It takes advantage of an unused space in an alleyway between Heritage Steak & Whiskey and Lululemon in the upscale Eton shopping center in Woodmere.

The name NightJar was chosen to evoke a sultry, stealthy feel, according to Friedman.
