Ward Rakei has pleaded his case to the NWFL tribunal and has won.

The versatile Magpie fronted the panel on Wednesday night after he was reported in the second qualifying final against Ulverstone on Saturday, September 6 .

Rakei was reported for intentionally or carelessly striking Robin Brayden Devries in the second quarter and was offered a two-match suspension, reduced to one with an early guilty plea.

He challenged the charge at the tribunal and was found not guilty .

It means Rakei will be available for selection in Devonport's seventh consecutive grand final appearance on Saturday, September 20, at the Latrobe Football Ground.

The qualifying final was Rakei's first appearance in the senior side since round seven.
