AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The death of Charlie Kirk has left many in the area grappling with the loss of an activist who inspired young people to engage in politics and express their values.
Kirk was shot and killed on Thursday in Utah, sparking a wave of shock and sorrow among his followers, including local leaders who had met him.
Candy Gibbs, Executive Director of Hope Choice, first met Kirk last year at an event at West Texas A&M University. She remembers Kirk not just as a political figure but as a kind and thoughtful individual who connected with people on a personal level.
