GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Dozens of people filled the first floor of the Grand Rapids Public Museum on Wednesday night for the unveiling of a highly anticipated exhibit that began on Michael and Courtney Clapp's property on 22 Mile Road in August of 2022 .

"We had no idea what was happening at first. It was actually our neighbor that came and said, 'Hey, they just found a dinosaur on your property!'" Courtney said.

But it wasn't a dinosaur. Instead, crews with the Kent County Drain Commission working on a project had unearthed the bones of a mastodon.
