TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The family of Michelle Gracia spoke out about justice, on Wednesday.

Gracia was shot and killed by her boyfriend, Michael Duran, in a murder-suicide at their midtown home earlier this week.

Her family members believe the justice system failed her.

Duran was out on pre-trial services after a judge released him rather than keep him behind bars in June.

Pima County Attorney Laura Conover tells News 4 Tucson she and her team fought to keep Duran in jail.

Gracia's mother and daughter firmly believe she should still be here.

"I should not be burying my daughter," Linda Gracia said. "This evil person killed her. She was my eldest daughter. This is really hard for me because I'll never see her again. All I have are the memories."

Gracia will hold on to the memories
