GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - An employee with Gaston County Schools is being investigated by school officials after they allegedly posted a comment on social media following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Gaston County Schools said on Thursday, Sept. 11, that the Board of Education was aware that an “insensitive and inappropriate ” comment was posted by an employee related to the killing of conservative activist Kirk.

Kirk was shot and killed during an event on a college campus in Utah on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

School officials said the school system is reviewing the incident and their human resources department was working to conduct an investigation.
