BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A special guest made an appearance at the Bakersfield City Council meeting on Wednesday a week ahead of the Kern County Fair, putting a smile on the face of those who were present at the meeting.

“Is there a KC anywhere in the house?” Mayor Karen Goh called out.

KC the Bull, the Kern County Fair mascot, waved as his towering figure (helped by the tall cowboy hat perched atop his head) walked down the chamber to stand next to Goh at the podium.

Goh made a proclamation in front of KC, officially declaring Sept. 17 through Sept. 28 as the Kern County Fair Days in the city of Bakersfield, before snapping a photo with the bull.

Tickets for Kern County Fair are available for purchase here.
