PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - On Wednesday, a sold-out event honored prominent women in the community and their efforts to better South Mississippi.
Nominees submitted a packet for different categories, including Military and Government, Education, Medical, and more.
The big award is named after Karen Sock, a Gulf Coast woman who kick-started Sock Enterprises.
LBPW Co-chair Teneisha Batiste says Karen Sock has left a significant impact on women on the Coast.
Batiste says, “We love her and we love what she does for our community and who she is. Just a wonderful role model. So, the award, the main award, is named in her honor.”
