Celebrations are being planned to mark the 60th anniversary of Plas Dol-y-Moch – Coventry City Council’s outdoor education centre in north Wales. And next year’s anniversary will also see council chiefs engage with schools and communities about their future ideas for the listed building in the heart of Snowdonia.

A report from the council’s head of education entitlement and enrichment services to be considered at a meeting this week said the celebrations in 2026 would mark an important milestone for the city and its residents, many of whom spent time at the centre. The report says: “The anniversary provides an opportunity not only to celebrate the unique contribution the centre has made to generations of Coventry children and families but also to reaffirm its role in shaping the city’
