A driver has been charged over a horror crash which left two men dead on South Australia Kangaroo Island last night.

Police said the car was travelling along Cape Willoughby Road in Cuttlefish Bay when the vehicle rolled over before 11.30pm.

A 55-year-old man from Adelaide and a 26-year-old man from the UK died at the scene.

The alleged driver, a 42-year-old man, was left with minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police travelled to the crash site early this morning to examine the scene.

The driver has since been arrested and charged with two counts of causing death by careless use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in Kingscote Magistrates' Court in November.
