LEWISTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -- As flu season approaches, a local health network has drive-thru flu shot clinics planned

Geisinger will offer drive-thru flu shots this Saturday and on Oct. 4 and Oct. 18 at clinics across the system.

Locally, events will be held at Geisinger Lewistown, 21 Geisinger Lane; Geisinger Mifflintown, 27 CJEMS Lane; and Geisinger Pediatrics Lewistown.

“The flu vaccine protects you against serious illness and keeps you from spreading the flu to those at high risk of severe illness, such as newborns, children, pregnant women, elderly and immunocompromised people,” said Stanley Martin, M.D., Geisinger director of infectious diseases.

The events run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and shots are available for anyone age three or older.
