ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Wednesday marks World Suicide Prevention Day, and several local organizations gathered at Wisner Park in Elmira to share resources with the community.

The Suicide Prevention & Crisis Service of Tompkins County partnered with AspireHope NY , Casa-Trinity , and the Chemung County Suicide Prevention Coalition , the hosts of the annual Walk A Mile in My Shoes event, to host.

Anyone who attended was able to listen to live music performed in the park, connect with representatives, and access a variety of resources from each organization.

"There's a huge stigma around it and this is how we break it down we talk about it like it's everyday language and make it so it's not so scary for people to communicate about and it's really just about like following your gut,
