ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Residents at Woodlawn Court apartments in Elmira are facing a NYSEG shutoff for the second time in less than a year. On Wednesday night, property management held a meeting with the apartment community, to try and assure them that won't happen.
The community room at Woodlawn Court was standing room only, as residents wanted answers on if their utilities will be shut off again, and what's being done to make sure they're being paid.
NYSEG posted shutoff notices at the property on Friday, stating power will be terminated unless hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid balances are resolved in full.
"Am I going to have lights after the 23rd? That is what I want to know," demanded one resident at the meeting.
