SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WENY) -- Residents of Southport attended an informational session about neighborhood watch groups on Wednesday night at the Southport Volunteer Fire Department.
Chemung County Legislator Rodney Strange hosted the neighborhood watch meeting and invited Chemung County Sheriff Bill Schrom to provide more information.
Strange says his constituents in Southport expressed an interest in putting together a group. On Wednesday, Sheriff Schrom helped to provide some county crime statistics and address specific concerns about crime with members of the community.
