The city of Fayetteville is sticking with ShotSpotter at least another year, renewing the contract for the gunshot detection system at its Sept. 8 meeting.

“I have not been a huge proponent of it from the very beginning,” said Councilwoman Lynne Greene, who has questioned the $220,000 one-year price tag for ShotSpotter but ultimately voted for it Monday. She said that while the majority of her District 5 are in favor of it, "I have those who are not."
