EAST LANSING — For the first time in a long time, Armorion Smith can focus on football.

Well, not fully. Not with the sheer volume of responsibility the Michigan State senior has off the field.

Being a sibling guardian to his four of his younger brothers and sisters. Making sure they are fed and clothed. Taking them to school in the mornings, before getting himself to classes and practice, then returning to parenting duties as a 22-year-old man still working through the pain of losing his mother to cancer.
