Former Premier League referee David Coote leaves Nottingham Magistrates' Court

Nottinghamshire’s former Premier League football referee David Coote has pleaded not guilty to a single charge of making an indecent image of a child. The 43-year-old, of Woodhill Road, Collingham, near Newark, denied the single offence when he appeared in person at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on the morning of September 11.

Dressed in a dark-coloured suit, white shirt, black tie and wearing dark sunglasses, the defendant arrived early for the hearing inside courtroom 15 amid “considerable press attention” from reporters and photographers who were waiting for his arrival.
