NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Thursday marks 24 years since nearly 3,000 people were killed in coordinated attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001.

Families and loved ones of those lost will gather at the site of the World Trade Center on Thursday morning for the annual commemoration ceremony.

The ceremony will include the reading of the victims' names from all three 9/11 sites, as well as the victims from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The somber remembrance will begin with the six moments of silence for when each plane struck the Twin Towers.

You can watch the ceremony on the PIX11 Morning News, PIX11.com, and the PIX11+ app beginning at 8:30 a.m. New York City will continue to honor the victims of 9/11 with the annual Tribute in Light on Thursday
