INWOOD, Manhattan (PIX11) -- A broken water main, spewing in a New York City street, briefly stopped traffic on Thursday morning, according to officials.
A 20-inch water main burst and caused a small sinkhole at 220 Nagle Ave. in Inwood just before midnight on Wednesday, authorities said.
Although the sidewalk wasn't affected, the intersection of Nagle Avenue and Dyckman Street was temporarily closed to traffic.
Workers from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection worked throughout the night to shut off the water main break and have been excavating to determine the source of the leak.
