PORT JERVIS – Jessika Gessner of Port Jervis was 11 years old when her dad, Gary Frank, died in the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.
Frank was 35 at the time and had just started working for AON Insurance on the 92 nd floor of the second tower a couple of months before.
Jessika, who is expecting her third child, remembers that day.
“I was in school; they didn’t tell us anything. I was in sixth grade. I got off the bus and my mother and this other neighborhood boy said what had happened,” she remembered. “My mom didn’t know that he worked there, but I was like, doesn’t dad work there. A few months before that, I was in the city and he walked me through the bottom and said, ‘this is where my job is at,’” she said.
