An employee at Murfreesboro's Middle Tennessee State University has been fired for comments made after the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was killed Wednesday by a yet unidentified gunman, who fatally shot Kirk during an event on the campus at Utah Valley University Wednesday in Orem, UT.

NBC Nashville affiliate WSMV identified the employee as Laura Sosh-Lightsy, the now-former Assistant Dean at MTSU.

Her posts on Kirk’s death were “Looks like ol’ Charlie spoke his fate into existence,” Sosh-Lightsy said. “Hate begets hate. ZERO sympathy.”
