The Hamilton Counted 2025 Mid-Year report shows a drop in overall crime and overdoses, but an increase in homeless healthcare patients and WIC participants.

Crime

According to the report, overall crime is down 18% countywide compared to last year. Violent crime has also declined approximately 37%.

The primary factor behind violent crime is aggravated assault, while theft from vehicles is the main perpetrator of property crime.

There was a 44% decrease in non-fatal shooting victims, from 50 to 28 instances.

Murder cases went down from 18 last year to 10 this year, while rapes went down from 82 to 66.

There were slightly fewer burglaries, from 494 last year to 480 this year. This is still trending downward from 614 in 2023.
