CNN is expanding its live news hours, bringing on Elex Michaelson to anchor a new program from Los Angeles from 12-2 a.m. ET.

Michaelson joins CNN from KTTV, Fox’s L.A. station, where he garnered widespread acclaim for his coverage of this year’s devastating wildfires. He had been with KTTV since 2017.

While at KTTV, Michaelson also created and hosted political talk show The Issue Is with Elex Michaelson , interviewing guests that included President Donald Trump, former President Joe Biden, former Vice President Kamala Harris, California Governor Gavin Newsom, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
