Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and close ally of President Donald Trump who played an influential role in rallying young Republican voters, was shot and killed at a Utah college event on Wednesday. The shooter has not been found. Police are working to identify the shooter, who jumped off roof and fled after firing shot. Following Kirk's shooting death, Kansas lawmakers released the following:

"We are heartbroken by the news of this tragic loss. Charlie was an incredible man whose faith guided him. He led a movement of young conservatives in our country, and his legacy will live on.

Laina and I are devastated and our hearts and prayers are with his wife, Erika, and their two children. May he rest in peace."
