TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Calvary Chapel in Tucson held a service for conservative political activist Charlie Kirk Wednesday night.
Hundreds of people filled the church to honor Kirk’s life and beliefs.
Lead pastor Robert Furrow said the Kirk visited the church last year - that’s where their connection started and it continued to grow.
He spoke about how Kirk challenged him at times and encouraged him to stand firm in his beliefs.
“He was assassinated and martyred and may the blood of that martyr be used to spur us forward,” Furrow said.
Furrow spent most of the tribute speaking about and praising Kirk’s belief in God and his views, with many in the church clapping and cheering.
“The best way to honor Charlie is to build strong homes rooted in Christ,” Furrow said.
