CHESHIRE, CT (WFSB) - Three people were arrested on animal cruelty charges after police in Cheshire seized nearly two dozen animal.
Police announced on Thursday that they charged 42-year-old Jennifer Guest, 71-year-old Nancy Guest, and 74-year-old Philip Guest.
The investigation began on June 17 .
Police said they received a complain about a number of cats and other animals living in poor conditions at a home on Cook Hill Road.
They said animal control officers had trouble contacting the people who lived in the home, so the case was turned over to detectives.
Probable cause was established, and a search of the home was conducted.
As a result, 18 cats, a dog, and several other related items were seized from the residence.
Arrest warrants were prepared for the three residents.
