During their Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions, Green Bay's suffocating defense helped them win 27-13 against their division rivals. Many considered Detroit a Super Bowl contender heading into the season, but the Packers made them look far from it.

The Commanders also won their first game, although they admitted to sloppy play and mistakes. Still, quarterback Jayden Daniels played well enough to lead his squad to a 21-6 win over the New York Giants.
