AKRON, Ohio — A woman is facing charges after police say a fight on a Metro bus led to a stabbing on Wednesday afternoon in Akron .

According to a release from the Akron Police Department, officers were called to the 500 block of East Market Street around 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 10, for reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old woman lying on the sidewalk across from Summa Health Akron. A Summa Health Police Department officer was already on scene providing aid by applying pressure to her wounds.

Investigators say the incident began as an altercation between two women riding a Metro bus. After both got off, police say 34-year-old Chavella Dorris allegedly charged at the victim and stabbed her several times.
