There may be nothing the Regina Thunder dislikes more than losing to the Saskatoon Hilltops.
But there could be lessons learned from their recent loss, something the Thunder can use when resuming its Prairie Football Conference season Sunday, 1 p.m. at Leibel Field , against the Winnipeg Rifles.
“We try to not get complacent, even when we win,” linebacker Kenten Effa said following a Thunder workout Wednesday night at Mount Pleasant. “But when you end up taking a tough loss like that in a close game, it really, really drives you to push that extra mile.
“We had a good practice and the boys were fired up to get on the right track again, going against Winnipeg.”
Regina lost 18-15 to the visiting Hilltops on Sunday at Mosaic Stadium. A 40-yard field goal by Shawn Green had given the Thu
