If you have a car dealership in Richmond, you wouldn’t want to pay to advertise in Louisville.
This was also a time when people used antennas to get signals, so the range from your station and geography was a consideration.
Those boundaries, now defined by the Nielsen company, are used by broadcasters and advertisers.
Another consideration is one of manpower. We only have so many people, and we choose to focus on the stories that will im
