ETTRICK, Va. (WWBT) - Virginia State University went on lockdown on Thursday due to a threat.
“Due to a potential threat, Virginia State University is currently on lockdown. All students who are on campus should remain indoors, and those off campus should not come to campus at this time,” the school said in an email to students and staff. “All classes have been canceled, and all VSU employees are instructed to work remotely. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
The lockdown continued into the afternoon “until further notice”, but was later lifted with restrictions.
An alert sent to students around 1 p.m. reads: “Entry to campus is limited to faculty, staff and students with valid VSU ID.”
The school says no injuries or incidents have been reported
