A major Glasgow road has reopened 24 hours after it was closed as emergency crews battled a "massive" fire .
London Road in the city’s east end was closed by police after firefighters were called to a blaze at a recycling plant around 7.20pm on Wednesday (September 10).
Residents reported explosions and an “acrid” smell as smoke billowed from the scene at the S. Norton & Co site.
Police warned locals to keep their doors and windows closed and told motorists to avoid the area. At the height of the incident six appliances, a high reach appliance and specialist resources were at the scene, the fire service said.
There are no reports of any casualties. Footage showed flames leaping among scrap heaps as firefighters fought the blaze from an aerial platform.
