Field Hockey Canada CEO Susan Ahrens has the national senior men’s and women’s teams calling for her “immediate removal,” in an open letter posted to their Instagram feeds, explaining that they’ve lost “complete confidence.”

The national sport body’s board of directors is investigating, according to an email from a Field Hockey Canada spokesperson, and is pledging to review the letter “with fairness, transparency, and respect for all involved.”

“We will share next steps with the community in a timely and transparent manner,” the email continued. “If anything more comes of this, Field Hockey Canada will release a public statement.”

Field Hockey Canada’s offices are in Richmond and Ahrens has been CEO since January 2019. She had previously served as Field Hockey Canada’s director of hocke
