Lyle Lovett, the Texas singer/songwriter with four Grammy awards and a catalog of classics that runs the gamut from country to swing, usually has His Large Band with him when he comes to town.
That band, which, yes, is actually called “His Large Band,” is a 14-16 piece unit that can handle everything from the heartbroken country lament “God Will” to the brassy jazz number “Here I Am” to the hilarious gospel number “Church,” in which the congregation begs to go home so they can eat.
