Greenville County Schools announced a teacher was fired for a social media post regarding the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Wynne Boliek, a government teacher at Southside High School, was initially placed on administrative leave Sept. 11 while the school district investigated the matter. Greenville County Schools said Boliek was no longer employed with the district at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
After a brief investigation, the school district confirmed Boliek as the author of the Facebook post, which stated, “Thoughts and prayers to his children but IMHO, America became greater today. There I said it.”
Kirk was shot and killed during an appearance at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
