ATLANTIC CITY — Hundreds joined local first responders on Jackson Avenue Thursday morning to remember those who died during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
"In the aftermath of that tragic September day, America proved our resilience to the world," said Michael Fedorko, Atlantic County's public safety director. "A country united by tragedy, a country with one flag and one nation under God."
The memorial honors resort natives Victor Saracini, captain of United Airlines Flight 175, which hijackers crashed into the World Trade Center's South Tower, and John P. O’Neill, a former FBI agent who was director of security at the Trade Center and died helping evacuate the South Tower.
