SANTA FE, N.M. —
UPDATE: New Mexico Senate Democrats said the bomb threat was made against Senate Majority Leader Peter Wirth.
Additionally, House Majority Leader Reena Szczepanski said a bomb threat was made toward her home in Santa Fe. She said her entire family is safe after a quick local and state law enforcement response.
Wirth offered a statement following the police response that caused Santa Fe Preparatory School to be evacuated on Thursday, Sept. 11.
"Earlier today a threat was made against me, leading to disruption and an evacuation at schools in my neighborhood. I am grateful to our state and local law enforcement agencies for their swift and professional response to this serious matter, and to the school officials who skillfully managed the disturbance.
