The Pacific Northwest’s beloved rock duo Sleater-Kinney kicked off two nights at Revolution Hall Wednesday.

Originally formed in Olympia, Washington , Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein make up the current iteration of Sleater-Kinney. Brownstein is also a local fan favorite for her role on " Portlandia ."

The band is known best for their part in the early 1990s riot grrrl movement. They took a hiatus from 2007 to 2013. Original member Janet Weiss left in 2019. Since her departure, Brownstein and Tucker have released two studio albums.

As a fan on the younger side who missed their 20th century heyday, I was in heaven. Not only did I finally get to see some of Portland’s hometown heroes in real life, but I got to witness some of the most influential musicians in such a pivotal
